To enroll in the Paramedic Course Sequence, students must meet all pre-requisites. Students may petition pre-requisites (use form below) if they have taken equivalent coursework at another institution. Petitions should be submitted with supporting documentation including transcripts to the Dean of Academic Services.
To enroll in the Paramedic Course Sequence, students must also be currently certified as an EMT with the State of California (EMT registration with NREMT does not substitute for certification as an EMT with the State of California); and possess a current AHA BCLS CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent. Students who have not completed EMS 81 or 20, but are currently certified as an EMT, may petition the EMS 61/30 and EMS 81/20 prerequisites. Petitions (use form below) should be submitted with supporting documentation including copies of current certifications to the Dean of Academic Services.
Students must also meet all immunization requirements; be 18 years of age of older; and be able to successfully pass a criminal history background investigation and drug screening administered by Verified Credentials at www.verifiedcredentials.com.
